History

Jack Ma and 17 co-founders established Alibaba in Hangzhou on 28 June 1999 as a business-to-business marketplace. The group later added Taobao, Tmall, Alipay (spun into Ant Group), and Alibaba Cloud, and listed in New York in 2014.¹
